The Basque Country, 7 provinces and 3 juridical contexts
Araba, Biscay, Gipuzkoa , Navarre , Lapurdi, Lower Navarre and Zuberoa are the territories that form the country of the Basques. Nowadays, the first three of them are inside the Basque Autonomous Community, and as it happens with the Foral Community of Navarre, its development and sovereignty are restricted by the Spanish Estate, under a limited autonomous régime. The situation in the norther part (Iparraldea) is a truly state of submission and humiliation by French centralism, and even though the majority of the people want to, there is no proper and common institution for the three provinces.
An small country in the world, opened for everyone
It could not be otherwise, a nation that saw how its children left to other parts of the world because of a fascist dictatorship is now a destination country, a place for multi-cultular encounter. Social exclussion, racism and xenophobia towards massive immigrations are the consequences of an unfair worldwide system: Capitalist globalisation and its disastrous development in the Basque Country by exogenous governments. Because another world is possible, let us make a country all of us, for everybody.
France and Spain putting under the Basque people (Whatever it takes)
In 1937 the town of Durango, and days later Gernika, were under attack of the Nazi aviation in a bombing over the civil population with no chance of defence, showing what the established Power dares to do against those who oppose injustice and claim for their rights as a nation. 70 years later the governments use the territorial and social division that the dictatorship and the war imposed, denying possibilities to democratic channels.
A future in peace, with no violence
Peace is a value in itself and the Basque people do not resign to not getting it. Peace, in addition, is not a simple “no war” state, is the consequence of concord, agreement, respect to the citizens' will, and mainly of social justice. Against torture, disappeared people, armies, armed forces and organizations, our non-violent will of being free.
Self-determination, people's voice
Yes, because it is our right. Those who try to suppress us as a nation and are against a democratic behaviour such as it is the free decision of people are the real antidemocrats. Against democracy they propose an unacceptable authoritarism. We say NO to imposition and YES to democracy: Our future is ours, we want to decide, we shall decide.
